Metal Strip (AASHTO Only)
As opening the material input page, Visual Slope will ask the user if soil nails will be used in the analysis. If the user chooses "No", "strip" and "strip bank" will show the tags. Otherwise, "soil nail" and "soil nail bank" will show on the tags. The strip data and soil nail data share a same database. For soil nail details, please see the soil nail section.
In the metal strip input page, the user should provide the following items:
Label - the name of the strip
The width of the strip which has excluded corrosion loss.
The bond strength of between the strip and the reinforced soil. This property will only be used in global slope stability and compound stability analyses.
The horizontal spacing of strips.
The strip load capacity in unit of force.
Connection capacity in unit of force.
Like other material properties, metal strip data can be saved into the strip bank or with drawn from the bank.
