Connection Strength Data

The connection strength between the wall facing and reinforcement is required for an MSE wall analysis.  Most wall unit manufacturers have tested their products with different reinforcement products and posted the test data on their web site or upon request.  Visual Slope has stored connection data in the database for most commonly used wall units and reinforcement.  At the data gathering process, Visual Slope will search the database for the connection strength according to the wall unit and reinforcement used in the analysis.  If the data is found in the database, the data will be used in the analysis.  However, if the data is not found in the database, Visual Slope will offer the user an option either going back to setup connection data, or using computer generated data.  Be cautious when using the computer generated data.  The user should make a judgment if the computer generated data is reasonable.  If the user wants to setup the connection data, the user should first make sure that both wall unit data and reinforcement data have been saved in their bank and then can choose the connection page, and go through the following steps.
1. Scroll to the end of record.
2. At the Block Name column, click button and choose the wall unit name from the list.
3. Using the same way, the user can choose the reinforcement.  If the connection data between the wall unit and the reinforcement already exists, Visual Slope will warn the user.
4. Enter the initial connection capacity, friction angle and maximum connection capacity using the chart from the manufacturer's test data.  The input data must be in English system.  Visual Slope will convert the the data into the current unit system, when using them.
